Have you heard of Mayka Toy Block Tape?
It’s a flexible, adhesive tape that you can cut and stick to walls, ceilings, and other smooth surfaces to make amazing block creations. Compatible with all major blocks (like LEGO,) it is a great addition to your child’s collection.
It comes in various lengths, colours,
to ensure maximum fun.
There is an adhesive on the back of Mayka Toy Block Tape, similar to double-sided tape. You simply peel off the backing and cut it to your desired length and shape. (BONUS: it is super-easy to cut.)
Then you can stick it wherever you want to play. So easy, right?
Instantly, you have a surface for creating! The blocks fit easily on the tape
and they stayed put.
Bravo had a great time peeling and sticking the Mayka Block Tape to our shelf and archway. (Our prickly stucco walls made it impossible to use on our living room walls.)
He rearranged the pieces on top of the shelf a few times and I noticed that some of the stickiness wore off after several removals. (Which I think one might expect.)
Bravo also accidentally peeled both the backing and the sticky layer off one section of the largest strip. Since it is possible to remove both layers at once, leaving you with no sticking power, use caution when you are removing the protective paper backing. I have a theory that you could apply some double-side tape to up the stickiness again, but I haven’t tried it yet.
At one point, he ripped the tape off the shelf and a little piece of the laminate peeled up with it. I think this was mostly due to the force of his maneuver (or perhaps it was even a bit of previous wear and tear on the shelf?) because I peeled the tape up a few times, slowly and carefully, and noticed no paint chips or other damage. There was also no sticky residue left behind. I would use it again with confidence that it wouldn’t harm the walls.
The Mayka Toy Block Tape held creations big and small and offered a change from tabletop or floor building. Sometimes creativity needs a new perspective, right?
UPDATE, two weeks later:
The Mayka Toy Block Tape that we put on the archway? Not only is it still there, but it is just as sturdy as the day we put it up.
This leads me to believe that if you put the tape somewhere and just leave it, you could admire your creation for a long time. Perhaps to decorate a bedroom, desk area, or beside a block-building area in a playroom? So many possibilities.
The Mayka Toy Block Tape did everything I hoped it would, and more. I recommend this to building block lovers (and those who love them) to add new dimension and some gravity-defying fun to their builds. It’s a new way to display and enjoy your creations once they are complete, in places you might not have thought possible.
